Imagining Your Dream Job
Some of us are blessed. We get to choose our work, and often are at liberty to choose something that we love, as our life’s work. You know in your core that you are working within your true vocation.
Then there’s everybody else. Or so it seems. For the rest of us it seems that choices may not appear quite as clear as we like. The job we find ourselves in may not be our ‘dream job’ and we find ourselves wishing we could work at something else more satisfying, more pleasing, more rewarding.
But then there’s the often daunting task of figuring out what that ‘something else’ might be. How do you even start to explore what the next ‘right’ career is for you? That daunting place is where I most love to do my coaching.
A Coach helps you go where it’s hard to go on your own. You get to figure out your core skills and learn from your peak experiences, what excites you, which values guide your decision making. A coach provides a space for you to dream big and take real action towards that dream.
Next time you find yourself wishing you were in a different job, a different career altogether, start by asking yourself this one question; If money were no object, if I could imagine my ‘dream’ job that would satisfy me on so many levels, what would that job look like?
Is that all there is to it? No, but is it a step down the road of discovering what’s truly important to you? You bet it is.
