Good News When We Least Expect It

Today three things arrived that made me feel a whole lot better.

I’ve been in bed, sick with a brutal virus that has required me to cancel all my coaching clients for the week, take hot baths and gargle a lot to try and get my voice back.  But I digress.  The three things were all, unto themselves no big deal, but as they each arrived within 15 minutes of each other, I really took notice.

The first thing that arrived was a parcel in the mail.  A small book from dear friends on PEI, who thought we’d get some use of a book that they’ve known and loved for a long time.  It came to me out of the blue and put a smile on my face.  Good news on the friend front.

The second thing that arrived was a phone call from my doctor’s office saying I do NOT have strep throat.  This also made me relieved and happy as I’m not a fan of taking antibiotics. Good news on the health front.

And the third thing that arrived was really good news from my husband as he returned from giving a presentation.  The folks he had presented to had  just voted to move forward with the project.  Good news on the work front.

And so, as I write this blog, I appreciate the three good news messages that came to me today.  Maybe the fact that all three were unanticipated makes it all the sweeter.  What I do know is that they showed up just at the right time… when I most needed them.

I think I’ll go sit by the sunny window and read a good book. Erectile Dysfunction

A great reminder that we need to stop and appreciate the little things in life, and not always be waiting for those “big ticket”, often elusive moments. Insight, wisdom and joy can be found in the smaller things, if we only open our eyes to them! Thanks Wendy and feel better soon!
