Imagining Desired Future State

One of my favorite things to do in the course of a day, when I’m not coaching and not reading, and not cooking a fabulous (!) meal, is to dream about the future.

I love imagining what my future will be like.  It’s also something I invite my coaching clients to do.

I believe that the very act of imagining one’s desired future state is one of the most productive and powerful things a person can do.  Why?  Because doing so is all about setting intention, and that, my friends, is a powerful force indeed.

There are no rules on how to do this.  But here’s a few tips I’ve found to be useful and effective;

  • Imagine what you are wanting as if you already have it.
  • Focus on the desire of what you want, not on what you don’t want
  • Get clear on why you want what you are asking for – what does it mean to you, what will be different for you when you achieve it?
  • Think it, speak it, write it down… whatever way will most powerfully affirm it for you

Setting intention is written about in so many books and web sites and blogs.  It’s something I know to be true… What we put our mind to, is what we get.  What we focus on… we’ll receive.  Like thoughts attract more like thoughts.  Doesn’t it seem logical then, that if we want joy and abundance and vibrant health in our lives, that we focus on experiencing those feelings?

Happy Holidays
